10 Year Celebration

Earth Lab turns 10 this year! To celebrate this milestone anniversary, we’re planning a celebration event on Tuesday, Nov 4th from 10 am – 1 pm. This is a community-wide event, and anyone is welcome to come. The celebration will include remarks from former and current Earth Lab members, followed by community-building activities to support Earth Lab’s mission of promoting collaborative and novel science. Activities include a “science speed-dating” event to broaden your professional network and a “recycled poster session” for the opportunity to display your research without having to create and print a new poster (just bring a poster you already have!). Coffee/tea and lunch will be provided. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate a decade of environmental data science and education!

**Registration is required to attend. Please register here by Oct 20: https://forms.gle/8DHaptiRK41pRbfR8

Activity Details:

  • Science speed-dating: Rotate among tables to get to know other attendees and find new potentials collaborators and/or discuss new ideas.
  • Recycled poster session: Bring a poster you already have made (or make a new one if you’d like). There will be space to hang them around the room, and time to peruse the posters during lunch. No need to stand at your poster and present, but rather the goal is to provide another platform to learn about the diverse research conducted across campus and make new connections.
