I am Prasad Thota, a second year Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at CU Boulder advised by Prof. Balaji Rajagopalan. Currently, my research is based on looking over hydroclimate extremes in India. I am originally from Andhra Pradesh in India where I did my undergrad in Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.
After which, I worked as a Research Assistant for one and a half years under Dr. Satish Regonda at IIT Hyderabad on the project titled “Understanding Space-Time Variability of Climate Extremes for Societal Resiliency in Indonesia and India ''. I have been working with Dr. Imtiaz Rangwala since the summer of 2021 to support research and data/tool development for the NC CASC Climate Science Support Platform where we developed several climate applications to aid stakeholder planning. I attended the EDSC workshop last summer and I really benefited from the workshop, especially in python. I also worked as a mentor last summer along with Dr. William Travis (Bill) and Imtiaz for the CU EDSC project.
I love cooking, playing badminton, cricket, watching soccer, movies, TV shows in my free time. I am really excited to learn again and looking forward to meeting all of you guys in person!
