Dr. Yi Qiang is Assistant Professor at the School of Geosciences, University of South Florida in Tampa. Previously he served for two years on the faculty at the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Hawaii – Manoa. Dr. Qiang obtained his Ph.D. from Ghent University at Belgium in 2012 and worked as post-doctoral research scientist at Louisiana State University and then here at Earth Lab University of Colorado - Boulder. His research focuses on spatiotemporal data modeling, geovisualization, disaster risk, resilience, and Coupled Natural and Human (CNH) systems. Dr. Qiang is interested in developing innovative data models, analytical frameworks and software tools to derive useful information and to advance knowledge by integrating heterogeneous forms of geospatial data.
