Behzad Vahedi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography, specializing in spatiotemporal deep learning. With a background in geomatics and GIS engineering, Behzad's research is centered on leveraging spatial principles to optimize the design and performance of deep learning models. His current focus lies at the intersection of computer vision and remote sensing, where he develops deep learning models for classifying sea ice in remotely-sensed radar imagery.

Outside of academia, Behzad enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and building computers in his free time.
