My name is Brandon Holt and I am a junior at MSU Denver where I am majoring in Environmental Science for my Bachelor’s degree as well as a Certificate in GIS. Earth science is fascinating to me and I am passionate about ensuring that we work towards restoration and conservation, especially for the flora and fauna that do not have a voice at the table.

I moved to Denver, CO from Pocatello, ID in June of 2020 and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. My hometown is a small and conservative city that does not have a lot of diversity which made growing up as a gay man a difficult and lonely existence. Thankfully, moving to Denver gave me a chance to live the life I always longed for and I ended up meeting my partner here. I have also had more opportunities surface, such as this internship, thanks to my stubbornness to succeed in school and to achieve my goals. After I complete my bachelor’s degree I am planning on getting my Master’s, hopefully somewhere in Europe as my partner and I are looking to emigrate.

In my free time I like to explore the city and the mountains with my partner Keegan, as well as making our 2 cats go crazy at the sight of the laser pointer. I also love to cook, read, and enjoy a good craft beer or cocktail.
