Hi all! I’m Emma Haupt. Originally I’m from Davidson, North Carolina and am currently studying Environmental Engineering at MSU Denver. Prior to transferring to MSU, I was a middle/high school ESL English and Science teacher for 4.5 years in Buffalo, NY and Denver, CO. I studied Music and Spanish at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota for my first undergrad degrees and consider myself a lifelong learner.

I’m thrilled to be part of EDSC because I am excited to learn new skills that will help me do more to address climate change in my career. I have always been drawn to the environment and environmental concerns and started taking steps to shift my career in that direction by transferring to MSU.

In my free time I spend as much time as I can in the mountains hiking, backpacking, and camping. I like learning everything I can about the environments I hike through and think of each peak as adding to my mountain repertoire. Some of my other hobbies are running, baking, cooking, and teaching piano lessons. Lastly, I have a goal of visiting all 50 states and currently have just four more to go!
