Matt is an ecologist at The Watershed Center, a non-profit watershed group based out of Boulder County, Colorado. The Watershed Center works to protect, restore, and make the watersheds that we inhabit more resilient to disturbances like floods, wildfires, and drought. Using a collaboratively developed adaptive management process, Matt works across river, forest, and grassland ecosystems to learn about local ecological issues that need attention, then addressing those issues using project-based and long-term monitoring followed by making land management recommendations to local government entities based on what was learned. Matt received his BA and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
