Shane Engel is a senior manager in Deloitte’s Strategic Risk practice, with over 20 years strategizing and implementing analytics programs and solutions that address risks to communities and organizations. He helps clients understand the analytics ecosystem and trends, plan for effective integration of these tools to meet user’s needs, and build solutions that unlock the power of these analytics to drive improved mission outcomes.  He has worked for over eight years supporting a number of emergency management agencies with technology implementation, including full modernization of enterprise solutions, implementation of GIS, development of debris modeling software, web-based mapping for disaster awareness, and supply/ demand of resources for disaster recovery.

Shane supports the Wildfire Pilot team as a subject matter expert in geospatial and advanced analytics products for climate risk and resilience. Over the course of his career, he has helped design and restructure data collection efforts for large enterprise data repositories, integrating the latest in mobile data collection tools, automated data compilation and quality management techniques, and real-time smart infrastructure data. He has planned and developed large enterprise GIS systems that leverage web, desktop, and mobile tools to drive smarter decisions and improve business processes.
