Patricia (Patty) Montaño is a scientist, museologist, and evaluator. She holds two master's degrees from the University of Washington in Biology and Museology. Her passions include learning from youth, families, and students about how to make STEM programs fun and inclusive. As a part of CIRES Education & Outreach at CU Boulder she manages the NSF-funded We are Water project, and provides evaluation services for colleagues at the university. For Earth Lab, Patty explores the experiences of undergraduate and faculty participants in the Earth Data Science Corps program.
Earth Lab’s evaluation efforts contribute to the larger field of data science education by identifying best practices surrounding earth data science education in online and in person environments and across diverse demographics.
